GCIO is pleased to provide you with a proposal to become a sponsor for our upcoming Green Computing Think Tank 2008.  The Green Computing Policy Think Tank will take place November 7th in Boston, MA.  The event provides a unique, close-to-home opportunity for vendors and users to work together on the creation of a strong environmentally friendly computing policy for change.
  April 12, 2008
GCIO hosted the 'Creating a Corporate Green Policy' workshop at Mass Power Shift 2008. In this workshop, participants worked together to identify areas that should be covered in a Corporate Green Policy and discovered proven methods for ensuring adherence to Green practices.

Go Green - Schedule a Free GCIO Audit Today

To get to where you want to be, it helps to know where you are. For technology users the primary service GCIO provides is in the form of free IT operation environmental impact audits / assessments.  These services provide a non-intrusive overview of existing environmental / energy efficiency issues to serve as a planning tool for change and for measuring the future success of green migrations..

Following the audit process GCIO posts blind Requests for Proposals (RFPs) on behalf of the user organization for response by member vendors.  This process helps users in identifying key vendor allies as well as provides an opportunity for competitive bids. Please note, GCIO does NOT recommend, endorse or specify any particular vendor products or strategies. What we do provide is the information that will help companies to select the strategy and products of their choosing and act as the middleman to connect users with prospective solutions.

At this time we are accepting applications for environmental audits of Fortune 1000 companies and major government agencies within the United States only.  (Program expected to be expanded in the future – please check back regularly for updates.)  If you are interested in applying for an audit please use this form and a GCIO audit representative will get in touch with you shortly to collect additional information on your IT environment we will need in order to consider your status.  Applications are considered in the order in which they are received.
