Karen D. Larkowski

Karen Larkowski is the founder and Chief Evangelist for Green Computing Impact Organization (GCIO).  In this role Ms. Larkowski is directed with preserving the mission of GCIO as a strong proponent of minimizing the environmental impact of enterprise computing systems.  Through corporate membership fundraising, government program alignment, university participation, and educational speaking engagements she spreads the vision and encourages participation.

An industry spokesperson for more than a decade and a half, Ms. Larkowski is the former Executive Vice President of The Standish Group International, Inc.  She is well known for her industry contributions and she has written numerous books, white papers and articles focused on many facets of the computer industry.  She has held multiple advisory sessions with both vendor and end-user clients and offers daily advice on key technology decisions.

Prior to her work at The Standish Group, Ms. Larkowski was National Vice President of Sales and Marketing for the promotion of a Brazilian based On-line Transaction Processing (OLTP) product.

Ms. Larkowski is the co-author of "Essential Guide to Object Monitors" published by John Wiley & Sons, Inc.

James J. Crear

James J. Crear is the Executive Vice President of Operations for Green Computing Impact Organization, Inc. In this position Jim overseas the implementation of programs and services and is the lead executive officer for the creation and execution of our environmental auditing procedures. Jim is an experienced executive with over 35 years of experience in the field of Information Technology.

Jim has had a diverse career as Vice President and CIO for leading IT organizations in Academia, Bio-Medical, Manufacturing, and Software companies. Jim has a track record of successful implementations of major ERP and CRM applications and the design of domestic and International WANs. Additionally, Jim was an independent IT consultant and senior advisor assisting companies in developing business processes for successful project management. Mr. Crear is the Chief Information Architect and Senior Research Analyst for The Standish Group International.
