GCIO is pleased to provide you with a proposal to become a sponsor for our upcoming Green Computing Think Tank 2008.  The Green Computing Policy Think Tank will take place October 7th in Boston, MA.  The event provides a unique, close-to-home opportunity for vendors and users to work together on the creation of a strong environmentally friendly computing policy for change.
  April 12, 2008
GCIO hosted the 'Creating a Corporate Green Policy' workshop at Mass Power Shift 2008. In this workshop, participants worked together to identify areas that should be covered in a Corporate Green Policy and discovered proven methods for ensuring adherence to Green practices.

Employment

GCIO prides itself on our commitment to maintaining a virtual organization.  Staff works where they live and live where they work, this minimizes environmental and economic impact associated with office buildings as well as insures employee satisfaction.  GCIO further supports the benefits of working with contract workers whenever possible to minimize the managerial expense of employing many full time workers.  Using contractor services frees up funds to go directly to work on our mission and insures that work is project based in nature to foster good time management principles.

All personnel, whether full-time, part-time or hired on a contract basis are expected to work in such a way that promotes and advances our mission at all times.

At this time we are seeking independent consultants to work on a contract basis to provide our environmental audit services.  Contracts are short-term engagements with training and materials provided by GCIO.  If you are interested in more information about how to get involved in becoming a GCIO auditor, please send your letter of interest and qualifications to jobs at gcio dot org.
